Citadel Cares

Through Citadel Cares, Citadel is dedicated to supporting philanthropic efforts across the Greater Philadelphia area to help people and communities prosper.

Citadel Cares

Citadel Cares

As a community credit union, Citadel has a strong track record of giving back and making a difference for the people we serve. Through the Citadel Cares program, Citadel donates funds and volunteer support to non-profits and charities across Greater Philadelphia with a focus on creating impactful prosperity and strength. Citadel Cares gives back to organizations that fall within four key pillars.

Guided by these pillars, Citadel Cares provides opportunities for the credit union, its employees, and its members to give back in the spirit of Building Strength Together through donations, grants, volunteerism, donation drives, and sponsorships of charitable events.

Our Pillars of Giving

Our mission is to care for and empower all those we serve to achieve financial strength. We leverage the skills and talents of our dedicated employees to improve the financial knowledge of those in our communities, both youth and adults.

The Citadel Cares program develops and provides financial literacy programs that benefit people of all ages. We also identify and support programs and organizations delivering financial education throughout our charter.

Education

Building strength in a community starts with investing in young people. We invest in education and the prosperity of our youth by honoring strong local educators, as well as partnering with programs who prepare our students to thrive in the classroom.

Our longstanding annual initiative, the Citadel Heart of Learning Awards, also recognizes local teachers across Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lancaster, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties to honors them with grants and prizes. Nominate a teacher in your life today.

Our purpose is to care for our communities and people so they can prosper. We invest in strengthening the economic vitality through programs that support homeownership and housing as well as veteran, women, and minority owned businesses to help to lay a strong foundation for growth.

Donations and employee volunteer hours contribute toward capital improvements across Greater Philadelphia supporting affordable housing and workforce development programs for low to moderate income community members.

Health & Wellness

We support a healthy community because without health and wellness, our community can’t prosper. Making quality food, plus physical and mental healthcare accessible and more affordable for our community is a core area of focus.

One of our most significant charitable partners is Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Learn how we get involved and support their biggest fundraiser of the year, the CHOP Parkway Run & Walk.

CHOP Parkway Run and Walk sponsored by Citadel

CHOP Parkway Run and Walk sponsored by Citadel

The 2022 CHOP Parkway Run & Walk, presented by Citadel Credit Union, was a big success - raising over $2 million for pediatric cancer. Citadel is proud to have doubled our contribution to $300,000 - with over $40,000 raised by our Building Strength Together team, helping CHOP reach this record-breaking milestone. While $2 million raised is an amazing accomplishment, we want to do even better. If you missed the event or would like to donate now, there’s still time. Let’s continue to add to this impressive total and conquer childhood cancer together! Donate at CitadelBanking.com/CHOP

A few weeks ago, some of our Citadel employees took some time out of their work week to help renovate a home in support of Mr. Horksema and his team at Good Works. Each of our employees had an amazing time giving back and #buildingstrengthtogether in our community together as one team.
